How To change the MP3 recording rate and days to live


Stop the KLZ AUDIOFILE service in Services

Use the graph below to calculate drive space Check how much free space you currently have on the data drive

Make your changes with the Audiofile setup program recording rate days to live

Delete the folder Spool found in the KLZ AUDIOFILE server folder Backup your Skimtxt found in the same folder This retains the previous skim marks otherwise only new skims will show once the service starts with the new settings The Spool folder and contents will be recreated when the Service re starts
Do not delete the Data folder as it contains your recorded audio logs
ReStart the KLZ AudioFile service Start the Monitor after 2 minutes Users can now log in and use the KLZ Audiofile player to access the logs or listen live or cut a section out and save it anywhere Mp3

The following is a setup is an example audio file configuration The four channels would all be mono and

ch1 CXXX log 62days 64kbps mono
ch2 WXYZ log 62days 64kbps mono
CRTC Logger channel most commonly accessed by remote users ie when you the GM or whomever is away and wants to hear whats going on

3 CXXX 160k 20 days 160kbps
4 WXXZ 160k 20 days 160kbps

160Kbs is the highest standard mp3 bit rate for mono audio The high quality archive would for re purposing content DP will like it IO for mic skimming etc

Heres a basic chart for mono channels Be sure to add 15 to provide adequate free drive space
