Post Installation Configuration



Description:   This document describes post installation configuration instructions for your  NfsAdmin program and  NewsRoom 5 system

When installing the server package you will be asked to run the NfsAdmin program at the complete of the process.  You may need to run the NfsAdmin program from its desktop icon


1. First run of NfsAdmin:
  1. Create a default user profile
  2. Create a tech user account for testing
  3. Install the demo data
  4. Validate the install folder
  5. Check to see if Registry entries written for NewsRoom
  6. Check Event Viewer
  7. Check Windows Defender 
  8. Check third party antivirus
  9. Check Settings Folder (programdata\Newsroom4\system\settings\ ) . If hidden type path in file explorer for access. 
  10. Verify Config File NewsRoomServer.Config
  11. Check the Install folder 
  12. Check licensing

2. Primary Configuration

  1. Configure Connection Options
  2. Configure NewsRoom Options - Allow Wire Post
  3. Configure Audio Options - Sample Rate/ Mono or Stereo
  4. Configure Database - Enable Indexing
  5. Open Firewall (Ports 87, 89, 5510, 5505, 5190 (RLS-VM), Relay Port)
  6. Edit Nii Files for Config (Cast, Wire, audio, etc Pages must be local)
  7. Replace D: to C: and check path on 110 and 111 pages
  8. Edit Properties Page, set ?Properties? as first tab
  9. Configure Cast Server Name In The NewsRoom-Cast Client menu
  10. Create Default User in Users Profile
  11. Add One User
  12. Check Network Share
  13. Configure Auto Updates
  14. Create Audio Lists and set data path to NFS for each list created
  15. Create Public Item Store
  16. Create Wires - Reconcile - Filters (all of it)

3.   Get The System Services Running:
  1. Install Net File Share 
  2. Start Net File Share 
  3. Check Event Viewer - Applications
  4. Install WireStore
  5. Set Wire Store service to Autostart in Services ( old bug)
  6. Start Wire Store
  7. Install Cast Server
  8. Start Cast Server
  9. Install Guardian
  10. Configure Guardian to restart once a day
  11. Start Guardian
  12. Service load
  13. Check All Log files
  14. Check Event Viewer
